Axis Could Not Mount Disk

Supported VersionsAXIS products with FW 5.90 and lower only support SMB 1.0. All AXIS products with FW 6.10 and onwards do support SMB 1.0, 2.0, 2.1, 3.0 and 3.02. Therefore, the following SMB behavior, default settings and changes apply only to AXIS products with FW 6.10 and higher.Firmware 8.20.1 and lowerSMB 1.0 was enabled per default only while all other supported SMB versions (SMB 2.0, 2.1, 3.0, 3.02) needed to be used in PlainConfig as described below.Firmware 8.30.1 and higherSMB 1.0 and SMB 2.0 are disabled per default now in order to increase the overall minimum cyber security level of the cameras.

To mount it use: sudo mount -a, if the result will be: mount: /mnt/NewHDD: mount point does not exist. You must create mount point sudo mkdir /mnt/NewHDD then use again: sudo mount -a. Still my favorite solo album by Steven Wilson, this LP is a must-have simply for the ridiculously excellent 'Mexico' variation of Insurgentes. The other vinyl-only tracks are great as well. In addition, we added support for the camera to auto-negotiate its SMB version with the NAS or edge storage device starting with SMB 2.1 or higher SMB version such as SMB 3.0 and SMB 3.02.Why has AXIS decided to disable SMB 1.0 and SMB 2.0 per default?SMB 1.0 and SMB 2.0 are considered unsecure and vulnerable to cyber security attacks due to their age and end of development. In order to increase the overall cyber security level of our products, AXIS has decided to disable those SMB version. My cameras cannot connect to the network share after updating to FW 8.30.1 or higher? If the network share connection previously was working, then this is an indication that the NAS or edge storage device used does not support any of the higher SMB version. See below on how to adjust the settings. What if my NAS or edge storage device does not support SMB 2.1 or higher? In case SMB 1.0 or SMB 2.0 is required due to compatibility issues, we recommend setting the Extra Mount Options in Settings - System - PlainConfig - Storage to a specific version'vers=x.y' (e.g vers=1.0, vers=2.0).Please note that there are two storage groups per mounted network share (normally Storage S1 and Storage S2) and both of them need to have the correct version in Extra Mount Options.

Anyone have any experience with older Axis cams running firmware that only allows you to mount shares via SMB1?I can't seem to get any of my old Axis cameras to mount shares on my SAMBA server running Ubuntu 18.04. I found this little tidbit from Axis:The cameras in question are indeed running firmware that is before 5.90. So according to that Axis FAQ, they should only support SMB1. But they do not connect to a default smb.conf file.

Did SAMBA remove support for SMB1 by default?I've tried adding to the smb.conf file server min protocol = NT1client min protocol = NT1However, the cameras still won't connect. The errors I'm getting for on the camera logs themselves are: Nov 10 16:55:04 axis-00408cdbbd05 kernel: 00 CIFS VFS: Send error in SessSetup = -13 Nov 10 16:55:04 axis-00408cdbbd05 kernel: 00 CIFS VFS: Send error in SessSetup = -13 Nov 10 16:55:04 axis-00408cdbbd05 disks1133: mountdisks.c: Disk 'NetworkShare0' NOT mounted (due to error) (4)I'm wondering if its the SAMBA server itself that simply isn't honoring a SMB1 connection. Is there a trick to making sure that SMB1 is still being supported on Linux/SAMBA for legacy devices? Unfortunately no. Max protocol = SMB1Does not work. I think they changed it to “NT1” at some point. But even with NT1, the cameras still won’t connect. I know the SAMBA server is working as I can use the same username/pass and connect via a Win10 box.I’ve got a ticket open with Axis.

It’s aggravating because they all used to work on an older Ubuntu 14 server a few years ago before they were temporarily shelved. Now that I’m bringing these old camera back to life, the SMB landscape has changed and stuff that worked once with ease has turned into a headache.
